Google is releasing it's Chromebook and it's coming to you soon. Google states the Chromebook can be ordered starting June 15th, 2011

Google claims this machine is optimized for the web and can boot up in 8 whooping seconds! now that is spaghetti if you ask me.

You wonder how does this Chromebook look like, well so far they are releasing these two Chrome Books with:

Samsung
Acer

And they look like this:

These puppies support flash as well so it's not your typical ipad 2

There is also a 3G Chromebook, so you can work from your wireless provider so far it's only on Verizon and it gives you a whooping 100MB of data. (wow 100MB not too much Mr Verizon!)

This is how the prices look like with Verizon:

100MB of data per month 1

Free

Limitless day pass 2

$9.99 per day

Additional 1 GB of data 3

$20 per month

Additional 3 GB of data 3

$35 per month

Additional 5 GB of data 3

$50 per month

And go figures the Chromebook is a cloud device meaning that you will never loose your favorites as well anything that you had on there which is super-cool!

Personal data is always secured in the Chromebook which means anyone can log in and have their own cloud environment, nothing is shared (I love cloud!)

When a new version comes out and you upgrade your Chromebook all the apps transfer over, and you are back online within seconds!

And Google claims the Chromebook is virus Free well for now I guess. The catch is it will cost you $28 dollars per month to use the Chromebook, that is about $336 dollars per year, and that's per user account.

Also another downside to this is that, will devices be compatible with this thing?

Who knows? If I can't hook up my cool gadgets to it what would be the point of owning it.

In the next few months will see how the Chromebook will do.

Conclusion: Google Chromebook is cool

So we have the Philips 40" inch 40PFL3705D HDTV LCD TV today to look at. This LCD TV is only one of the few here carried at Wal-Mart that is a 120HZ (1080P).

I am talking about specifically the TV's that Wal-Mart carries here in Canada. This TV goes for $598 here in Canada.

The TV is a 1080P and the look in the front is very comparable with some of the Samsungs sets. This is also a Green-TV which has a energy saving function build into the software which dims the LCD and avoids the TV from heating up.

When in Green mode the TV barley heats up I had it running for hours, when turning the Green mode off the TV will generally get pretty hot.

Some of the technicals aspects of this TV:

16:9 Native aspect ratio

2500:1 Contrast Ratio

Supported formats: 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p

Response Time: 2ms

Ports:

3 x HDMI Interface

Composite Video	1 x Composite Video

Composite Audio	1 x Composite Audio

S-Video	1 x S-Video

USB	1 x USB

Output	Digital Audio (Coaxial)	1 x Digital Audio (Coaxial)

I would say the speakers are not so amazing on this TV, only 20watts. But overall value for the price of the TV is good this set is very clear, does not heat up and packs a good trusted brand name behind it for a good price.

Check out my video for a quick nice review to see it in action:

Ok so it's time to do your taxes. Look no further I have used this software for the past three years. You don't need to go to the store and buy shrink wrapped tax software.

Simply check out: http://www.studiotax.com/. This software is free to download from their website, and updated accordingly every year. There is no limitations of how much you need to make (yearly) to be able to use the free version.

The full instructions are on the "Download" page of the website. The install file is about 21.6MB in size. The deadline for tax season is April 30, 2010 in Canada.

The cool part is that this software is completely free. I used it it works great, generates a tax file that is EFILE compatible. StudioTax is also extremley easy to use, as it has a Tax wizard that guides you step by step, throught the return process.

It asks several questions through the process to determine what exactly you may expense. I think this is probably the best Free software in Canada, I am giving it 10/10!

There is also a french version of this software, I tried QuickTax and StudioTax is better hands down.

This software is also CRA NETFILE approved!

So, everyone in Canada that has heard of Wind Mobile. Wind Mobile is now offering $150 dollar ECF (early cancellation fee) to anyone that switches their phone # to Wind Mobile from any Canadian wireless provider.

Yes that is right $150!, this is a way for Wind Mobile to attract more new customers and also the first month will be free. so you could potentially save around $200 dollars. (assuming you go with the $50 dollar monthly plan)

The only bad side of this picture is the coverage of Wind Mobile is not that great, here is a coverage map of Wind Mobile. Rumours going around that Telus will also pay the termination fee for bell and vice-versa (give it a try with retention) on a switch over.

As you see we have only two Home Zone's Toronto and Calgary the other two are away zones. This is where Wind Mobile will make money in "Away zone" they will make $0.25 cents per minute. So conclusion is if you are always in the Home Zone wind is for you but if you travel outside of those zones (the yellow one specifically and make those 4-5 minute spontaneous calls from your car) you will be simply charged 0.25 cents per minute and this is definitely not good news!

Text messages will also be $0.15 cents, so choose Wind with caution determine your use before you want to sign up.

Wind currently offers the following phones:

Blackberry Bold 9700 - $450
HTC Maple - $300
Samsung Gravity 2 - $150
Huawei U7519 - $130 (this phone doesn't impress me at all in 2010! hence the price)
