HP Slate vs iPAD

so HP has released a preview of the HP Slate!

The HP slate will be running Windows (specifically Windows 7) for an operating system, there is some rumours going around that the slate will also be able to run android (can anyone verify this?)

Rumours have it the slate will have a camera and it will use Windows 7 (that's means Yes we can have flash on it unlike ipad)

But Google is in the work of the google pad. It seems like the war has begun, for the net book market which is said to be growing at a exponetitial rate.

Full specifications are not know yet for the slate. There is no specification what chip, HP will decide to use in the slate.

The current candidates for a processor (my guess are):

• Core i
• Core 2 Duo
• ULV Core 2 Duo
• Su7300 (which is know to be a good battery performer, could be the perfect candidate for the HP slate.)

The question here comes in how stripped down Windows 7 will be, to save battery life i assume it will have to be stripped down in functionality to some point. If the HP Slate runs a full version of Windows 7 these will be two different devices.

I see the Apple iPad as a entertainment type of device, and my educated guess is the HP slate will take off more into a productivity type of device or maybe both a hybrid?.

This will be very interesting to see in which way HP will take the slate.
