So DaveWireless did some re-branding now they are know as Mobilicity. OK (for the people that are not from Canada), we are getting some competition coming in in the wireless market, some new players are coming in Wind Mobile already launched now we have Mobilicity (which was formerly know as Dave Wireless).

We also have Public Mobile which plans to do business in Canada. Mobilicity plans to launch the service this spring in Toronto. The name Mobilicity comes from focus on

Simplicity

City

On Mobilicity, there is claims value-packed unlimited plans are coming, that will feature brand-name handsets from manufactuers like:

RIM (Blackberry, Blueberry, Greenberry) ok don't believe everything I say!

Nokia

The investor behind Mobilicity is Oblysk which has backing also in XM Radio Canada. Mobilicity main concentration areas as it stands are:

Toronto

Ottawa

Calgary

Edmonton

Ottawa

Mobilictiy holds 1700/2100 (band 4) bands in Canada, so we could see NexusOne on it sometime. I am wondering what their plans are going to be I know what Canadians want allot of Voice in Canada (unlimited) and certainly data, we don't really want tethering (well some of us do, but tethering should have limits) but we want data on our phones. Oh if you want to check out their new rebranded site check out http://mobilicity.ca/home/

A side note on Public Moble:

$40 dollars unlimited text/voice in your calling area ($5 extra gives you Unlimited Canada, $5 more Unlimited USA) , so pretty much $50 bucks gives you unlimited voice.

Calling to Canada and USA, not bad but nothing is known about data, when it comes to data it's a more complicated issue. Public Mobile also doesn't offer much of a handset choice, will see how this company progresses.
